Lets get right to the point...
99% of all teaching says this, about what happened in the garden of Eden…
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and evil
God instructed Adam and Eve not to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, for eating the fruit, as God stated; “on the day that you eat from it, you will surely die" (Genesis, 2:17). Did God mean that Adam and Eve would physically die? NO, what He meant was that Adam would change his current state of existence. By not partaking of the fruit the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, Adam and Eve were effectively residing within the spiritual realm of immortal. By disobeying God they effectively fell from grace and became mortal on the physical level. Cast out of Eden to the mortal world of the Earth.
What prompted this act of defiance? Well there are a number of factors, the first is freewill. Adam and Eve had been given this gift, they could be affected their own decisions, but also freewill gives one the opportunity to reverse previous decisions and overcome previous experiences. Secondly, Eve was seduced to try the fruit by a serpent which informed her that by partaking of the fruit she and Adam will not die (physical death), but rather "be as gods, knowing good and evil” They would know what God and his Angels knew.
Immediately of eating the Fruit they became mortal (spiritual death) and began to experience all the psychical or earthly based desires and discomforts, as exhibited by their initial realization of their nakedness.

99% of all teaching of this subject, is based on this same premise.
What if I told you; they’re wrong? Oh boy, I can hear the sighs and sense the eyes rolling everywhere. What do I know, right? I’m just a foolish carpenter that reads the bible like there's no tomorrow, what do I have over the great seminary teachers of our time? Or maybe even those of the times before? I know plenty, know why? I wont add my opinion, neither will I take anything away from this book. I choose to leave the bible alone like it tells me to, and let it speak for itself. Besides, it doesn’t take a seminary degree to receive the revelation of the truth. The title of seminary teacher isn’t even mentioned in this book. The only things that are required, is that one searches diligently. That, and He always chooses the base things of the world to confound those that think they are wise…
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 1 Corinthians 1
So listen to what a fool has to say about what really happened in the garden for a change. Set aside the seminary teaching for a moment and listen to some one that only uses the bible to describe the bible, not a library full of books on theology. If I cant convince you by the end of this study; there will be no need to read the rest, now will there? and there will be no harm done. Its pretty short, it wont take too much of your time. But I can assure you now, that by the time you get to the end, and you study on your own of the things that are said here, you’ll see why He chose to teach the fools over the supposed great teachers. A fool know its best to humble themselves to the words of this great book, and we also know that libraries full of books offer you nothing but confusion when it comes to understanding a book thats alive. I can assure you, this fool, will get you to realize something totally different about what happened in the garden. You will see that it wasn’t the act of disobedience that is killing us, but rather the information we had received.
15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2
This was the command that Adam broke.
Adam was living in a much different place than we live in today, which is only obvious. Because where he was, trees were not only good for food to eat, but also for food that offers wisdom. Now I’m not sure about you, but Ive not come across these types of trees here yet. Apples Ive seen, oranges, pears…all of which good eating, but never once have I come across a tree, that I could reach up and pluck wisdom from. That’s because Adam lived in a much different place than we do today, but that’s not the issue we're here to discuss, that comes later. What we’ll focus on here is the command that was broken, because that’s what this study is all about.
The command; was that out of all the trees that were in the garden, there was one there that should not be touched. This tree was known as the knowledge of good and evil, and the warning attached to it is dire... If we eat from it, we will surely die.
So I ask you, what would be the knowledge of good and evil? It would be the ability to recognize the difference between right and wrong; wouldn’t it? And when you incorporate this information with the warning, the Creator is really telling us that if we understand the difference between right and wrong, it will kill us. Why? You would think it would help us, because now we would know what to do, and what not to do…
…right?
Not so fast, lets slow down a bit, because this question is very important. The knowledge of good and evil would tell us what was right and what was wrong yes, but keep something in mind, each one of us has been created with a will and mind of their own. What happens if what I think is good, you do not, and vise versa. What then? What becomes of this knowledge then? At that point the information no longer remains innocent, at that point it becomes wisdom that can kill.
Watch...
Lets do something for a moment that Adam didn’t have the luxury of doing while He was in the garden. Adam didn’t have the ability to look back into history, but we do. So lets use what we have, and lets look back into this history for a moment, to see if we can better understand what the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was trying to protect us from. Lets see if this wisdom; this knowledge of good and evil has done anything to humanity that has caused us to die.
The earliest civilization we have on record, is that of the Assyrian empire. Not too much is known, (at least what has been issued to the public) the history books we have today allow us very little knowledge of the Assyrian empire. The one thing we do know, is that the Assyrians were conquered by the Babylonians, of which we know quite a bit about. But the most important part of the Babylonian empire we know, that directly relates to this subject we're talking about, is that they conquered the Assyrians...know why? Because the Babylonians obviously thought the Assyrians were wrong, and Babylon was right…so they conquered them.
No?
Well, what about the Medes? The Medes conquered the Babylonians, of which we know more about. But again, the most important part of what we know, that directly relates to the subject we are discussing, is the fact that the Medes obviously thought the Babylonian lifestyle was wrong, and they were right…so they conquered them.
Still no?
What is the knowledge of good and evil? When we incorporate it with our own freewill it becomes judgment, does it not? With it, I can now look at you, just by your appearance alone…and I can judge you. With my eyes, I can look at you and see what you are doing, that isn’t like what I’m doing. Your skin color may be different than mine, maybe the way you wear your hair, your clothes are not my style, maybe I see you as a little overweight etc…
Is this not what I deem to be wrong, simply because you are doing something that I would not choose?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” John 7
No? Then watch this…
How many times in your life have you had a conversation with a friend, relative or acquaintance about someone else, to where they weren’t doing what you thought they should be doing? Is this not what you thought was right, and what they were doing was wrong? Honestly, question yourself…how much time have you spent in your entire life, inspecting and dissecting someone else’s life, when it was absolutely none of your business to begin with? Is this not judgment? Is this not what you saw as wrong, and you were talking about what you thought they should be doing right?
No? How about this?
What about your husbands or wives? Your husband wants to relax on the weekend, but you have a list of chores you want him to do. You think his chores are the right thing for him to do, but your husband doesn’t feel the same…so you fight for what you feel is right, and you tell him what you think he’s doing wrong.
Lets be fair, lets turn it around.
Your wife wants your attention after a long week, she wants to spend time with the person she married, but your busy with a hobby you enjoy very much. You think she’s wrong in her request, and she thinks she’s right because all she is asking for is a little time.
Does that one hit home?
Think back again to the empires we spoke of. After the Babylonians came the Medes. After the Medes came the Persians. After the Persians came the Greeks. After the Greeks came the Romans etc…etc…etc…What is the knowledge of good and evil doing to mankind? Is it not killing everything in its path? The Medes judged the Babylonian empire and conquered them. There was a change of bloodlines, change of laws, and change of religion. When the Persians conquered the Medes, there was a change of bloodlines, and a change of laws, and they both adopted the same religion. When the Greeks conquered the Medo Persian empire, there was a change of bloodlines, a change of laws, and a change of religion etc…
So, do you see it?
The information Adam received; is killing us. We are judging one another to death.
No?
What makes a white man any better than a black man? What makes a black man, any better than someone that’s white? The only thing that makes each one different, is something as simple as the color of their skin. But because we can see a difference, this alone causes judgment. One side sees the other side as wrong, or different, and they condemn the other through appearance alone. It s crazy, its shallow...but its ultimately true. We judge one another by appearance alone, sometimes all the way to death.
They even did the same to the Messiah according to Isaiah...
2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our grief’s, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53
Verse 2 say's, he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him, which means He was not attractive. Verse 4 say's, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. There was something physically wrong with Him, and Isaiah is the only one that mentions this infirmity,
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue
He will speak to this people,
12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which
You may cause the weary to rest,”
And, “This is the refreshing”;
Yet they would not hear. Isaiah 28
Isaiah says in verse 11 that the Messiah had "stammering lips" which means He stuttered. He wasn’t the eloquent speaker the Jews expected the Messiah to be. He was a simple, unattractive man; with a speech impediment. They judged Him based on His appearance, and they killed Him for it.
Please don’t view this an odd thing, or a wrong description of the Messiah, because you have to keep in mind; Moses had the same condition.
People; this alone should show you, it is not the act of disobedience that is killing us as the teachers teach, it’s the information we had received. That’s why our Creator warned us. That’s why He told us not to eat from that tree. He knew what we would do with it. He knew we would judge one another, and we had no right to do so…that’s His job. Only He assumes the role of a righteous judge, and we tried to take it from Him.
15 So truth fails,
And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him
That there was no justice.
16 He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;
And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. Isaiah 59
Does anyone know, or remember what the serpent said to Eve?
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3
This is what the serpent promised, the same information as a god; to know the difference between right and wrong. In essence, he sold Eve the lie that she too would become like a god with this information. But he wasn’t really lying, for once he was telling the truth, but he just so happened to leave a few things out. he left out what this knowledge would eventually do to us...
“You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3
Watch this, look at what the Creator said after we were told to leave…
22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. Genesis 3
He says here that we now have the knowledge of good and evil, and nothing about the mistake of not obeying Him. But look close at what He is saying here, look at what He says is a problem...
“Behold, the man has become like one of Us”
He is saying we now have the knowledge only a God should possess, does He not? And isn’t this also what the serpent said would happen?
5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Our enemy knew what would happen to us, because it was the same thing that had happened to him. he wanted to be like YHWH, and he used this same knowledge to judge YHWH, because he feels that he also should be considered a god. he also knew this information would be 1000 times worse in us, because we were a brand new creation, not capable of proper judgment, and one that was completely reliant on their Creator . So the serpent tricked Eve onto the same path he is on, a path of not needing your Creator. Both us and him can now make decisions for ourselves. We no longer needed YHWH to make them for us, both the serpent and us can do fine on our own. But neither one of us were designed to live this way. We were designed to be shown the proper way by the one who created us, and not to make these decisions for ourselves.
Make sense?
Its not the act of disobedience, but the information we had received that’s killing us. And YHWH tried to protect us from it, because He knew we couldn’t handle it. He wanted to teach us what was good, and what was evil, because He is the only one righteous enough to understand, we cant, and never will be able to without His assistance. But now that we had this information, He chose to step back, and let us learn on our own. Learn through our own mistakes, which is the same thing we should expect from a great teacher such as this. This great teacher is teaching the best way He knows how, He is teaching His students, how to teach themselves. When all this is said and done, we will see the error of our ways through experience, and realize He is the only one that can understand what is right.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. John 12
This is all something the Messiah and His Apostles knew very well. They knew what had happened in the garden, they knew of the information we had received. And they also knew that there was only One who could teach us how to use it properly.
Does knowing this change anything? It doesn’t just change anything, it changes everything. Think about it...what does this information do? It shows you the true error of your ways. What you deem to be right, or what you deem to be wrong is not your decision to make, it is your Gods. Shut your mouth, mind you own salvation, and let your God do what only He can do. You who think abortion is wrong, or you who thinks abortion is right...I have news for you. You are eating from the tree you were commanded not to eat from, and you are sinning in the same manor as Adam all over again. Shut your mouth, mind your own salvation and seek after your God. It's His job to be the judge, not you.
This way you do not lead by instruction, but rather by example.
9Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.
Isaiah 58
If we would just stop eating from this tree He told us not to, stop pointing our finger at everyone else, and focus all our attention on seeking the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, then those in opposition will have no choice but to listen, because we are leading by example, and not simply by instruction.
Make sense?
Ill leave you with this to think about, and then carry the rest into the next study.
We received knowledge in the garden that’s been killing us ever since the day we began to use it, when Cain judged his brother Able to death. After this first instance, kingdom after kingdom, empire after empire, nation after nation have been using it to condemn one another to the same death as Able. We have been judging one another to death all throughout history, even more so this very day. But things have now changed, because the stakes are much higher than in the past. Now its not a simple game of maybe a million or two dying in a war; no... now our advancements in technology have raised the bar. For now we have the ability to destroy eachother completely, and take His planet along with us in the process.
Just like He told us in the garden. If you eat from this tree, you will surely die.
I told you, they have it wrong, its not the act of disobedience, but the information we had received in the process. But its not just here that the teachers have it wrong. There is something else that they should of been teaching.
Our Creators warning was not to Adam alone, it was actually a prophetic command to all of humanity. He knew that the knowledge of good and evil would kill us, that’s why He didnt want us to have it. We had Him, why did we need this understanding of good and evil, when He understood just fine for all of us? So the warning was not just to Adam, it was to all of us too. This also needs to be instilled in the minds of all those who seek after righteousness.
We have no right, to be a judge. We have no right, to play the role of our God.
We don’t know how to do it properly.
.
