So what are the seven seals?
If you’ve been through the studies of Daniel that are on this site, as well as the studies on the letters to the seven churches, you’ve realized by now that everything in the bible is perfect, as long as you allow it to move in chronological order, and the seven seals are no different. They are just another view point of the Messiahs first appearance, until His second coming…just as the letters to the seven churches; no more, and no less.
There are so many different theories as to the meaning of the seven seals, it can make your head spin to try and understand them all. The teachers of today, and yesterday for that matter, have applied every sort of foolishness they could muster to describe this section of the book of Revelation, with no proper interpretation in sight. The seven seals carry with it the dreaded story of the “four horsemen of the apocalypse” which the teachers of yesterday and today have used to spread every kind of dread possible to the hearer, which; to be honest with you, there is absolutely no reason for. The proper definition of these “horsemen” should actually mean the “four horsemen of the Revelation" because that’s what they are here to do; to reveal, which is exactly what they do if you'll let them. They will reveal to you a perfect interpretation of history from the birth of the Messiah until the days we live in today, with the same incredible accuracy as every other prophesy in this great book.
If you had the time to go through the letters of the seven churches, then you have seen that every one of letters moves forward in chronological order. It starts with the first church, the church we read about in the book of Acts, and moves forward into history one church at a time until we arrive at our letter, the last letter…the church of Laodicea. Which is the letter to those that are living today.
And the seven seal are absolutely no different.
All the seals do is give you another veiwpiont of what we had seen in the seven letters; thats it. It covers the exact same time frames, in the exact same order, going through the exact same history, and dont think for an instant that this is anything new to the bible, because the book of Daniel does the exact same thing. Daniel starts off with Nebuchadnezzars dream of the statue with four parts, and then as the prophesies continue to be told, they tell the same story over and over again dissecting the very same time frame as the statue in the first vision. This staue is the format for the book of Daniel, and the letters to the seven churches are the format for the book of Revelation.
This way everything is in perfect order and very easy to understand, which is the exact same way we should expect our Creator to write a message that everyone on the planet needs to hear.
Why should we have expected anything different?
The seals start out with a story in the kingdom of YHWH, where a a challenge is issued to everything living; Who is worthy to loose the seven seals?
1 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.
4 So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. 5 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” Revelation 5
The Lion of Judah, Yehowshuwa` Nazara had prevailed. He had finished His work. He was now found worth to open the seven seals of the scroll; which is no more than the telling of histroy since His work has been finished, and the unlocking of secrets, of our great book.
6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
Revelation 5
Now I ask you, does it not say in these verses that we see “a Lamb as though it had been slain”? This of coarse can only be one thing, the Messiah; but think on this. If the Messiah stands here, showing signs “as a Lamb that has been slain”…why would we think the scroll tells a tale other than from the Messiahs resurrection forward? I mean come on, He stands here with His work obviously finished…one has no choice but to see the tale of the seven seals is told from this point forward. Yes?
8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“ You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:
“ Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
“ Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.
His work is finished, and it makes it abundantly clear right here. So if this is the case, then what information does the scroll contain?
Think about something. The tale the bible tells begins in the garden, and it is said that our Creator had created everything and then rested, which means everything has been set in motion to run its coarse. But the enemy of humantiy has been set loose on mankind to do everything in his power to somehow throw this preset coarse out of whack, and it proves this in verses such as this...
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Revelation 12
...the dragon tried to stop the Messiah from finishing his work, a blatent attempt to throw what the creator had set in motion out of its order. But once the Messiah had finished His work, the enemy had been defeated. he has been tried, found guilty, but yet to be apprehended and thrown into prison.
The Messiah opened up a new chapter for humanity, that could of only been known until He finished what He was supposed to. Which is the reason for the scroll. The tale couldnt be told until this point, and now the rest of the story can be revealed, with the unlocking of one seal at a time...Make sense?
Now as we walk through the seven seals, you can see exactly what has happened on this planet since the Messiahs return home. You will see one seal after another predict hisory with incredible accuracy, all the way up until the 6th seal. Because as it stands right now, the 6th seal has been opened, and two details have already been fulfilled...
...and only one more detail needs to be completed until the 7th seal is unlocked.
Of which we are almost ready to witness.
